A 30-year-old actor, Shubam Kumar, was arrested in Mumbai for reportedly following Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s convoy at the Bandra Worli Sea Link to evade toll charges.

Kumar, known for creating video content on social media, allegedly trailed the CM’s convoy as it entered the VIP lane, despite a traffic constable’s signal to stop.

The incident occurred when Kumar, accompanied by family members, refused to halt at the toll plaza despite the constable’s instructions. He was intercepted near Worli and handed over to the Bandra police, who subsequently arrested him.

During interrogation, Kumar admitted to attempting to avoid toll charges on the sea bridge by following Shinde’s convoy, which was en route to the CM’s official residence ‘Varsha’ in South Mumbai.

As a result, Kumar faces charges under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to rash and negligent driving, along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
