Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of BharatPe, is gearing up to make his mark in the fintech industry once again with a new app called ZeroPe.

The app, developed by Third Unicorn, a company founded by Grover after his departure from BharatPe, is currently in testing mode and focuses on providing instant pre-approved medical loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs.

“ZeroPe ensures a straightforward process by directly paying the approved loan amount on behalf of the user to the chosen hospital,” ZeroPe wrote on its website.

ZeroPe has partnered with Delhi-based NBFC Mukut Finvest to offer these medical loans, which can be availed only at partnered hospitals.

Grover’s venture into medical loans comes amid a growing trend of fintech startups offering instant financing solutions for medical expenses. Third Unicorn initially launched with CrickPe, a fantasy gaming platform, before pivoting to the healthcare financing sector. The company raised $3.5 million in a seed round led by ZNL Growth Fund, Vevek Ventures Investments, and Rishaayu LLP.

With India’s digital healthcare market projected to reach $37 billion in revenue by 2030, the demand for healthcare financing solutions is expected to rise significantly.

Grover’s ZeroPe aims to tap into this market by providing accessible and efficient medical loan services to patients across various healthcare needs, including hospitalization, home care, and chronic care management.
