PMC’s apathy leads to inconvenience to citizens

30/03/2019

Even after repeated complaints the problems at ABC Farms Chowk too remained unresolved

Residents are angry over the lackadaisical attitude of Pune Municipal Corporation, local corporators over the increasing problems across the neighbourhood. But ABC Farms chowk, the lifeline of Wanowrie residents, has become a chaotic junction in the last few years. With constant plying of heavy vehicles, unauthorised autostands, plying of PMPML buses, indisciplined motorits and encroachments by eateries and shops. With PMC turning a blind eye and corporators not adhering to the pleas made by the residents, the citizens feel helpless over the increasing inconvenience.

Col R C Gilja, a resident of Supreme Greenwoods society on NIBM road said, “The road stretch from ABC Farms to Kedari nagar has unauthorized auto stand, food vendors occupying pedestrians and motorists space. Why is there no action yet on these autos, ? Why is PMC ignoring action against unauthorized food as well as vegetable vendors ?

Brig Dhirendra Bhargav, a resident of Suvarnayug society on NIBM road said, “I avoid taking that road to reach Wanowrie or further ahead. This road is congested with lot of vendors, autos standing at the corner and indisciplined motorists. I wonder why is there no action yet by any governing agency. The manhole covers are above the road level which causes severe bumps to vehicles and troubles the motorists.

Surendra Handa, a resident of Silver Estate, off NIBM road complained to Pune Pulse that there is absolutely no space for citizens to walk freely. The pedestrian ways are blocked by encroachments, vendors, auto rickshaws across the neighbourhood. Why is PMC turning a blind eye to the increasing inconvenience ?

When asked about the delay in working on removal of encroachments, Wanowrie corporator Kalinda Punde told that the work on removing encroachments shall begin soon. PMC must act upon our complaints and suggestions immediately as the citizens are causing inconvenience.
