Retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Mukesh Jain is celebrating a double triumph as his younger son, Ayan Jain, has followed in the footsteps of his elder brother Arth by securing the 16th rank in the prestigious civil services examination 2023.

Ayan’s achievement mirrors that of his brother Arth, who attained the same rank in the UPSC exam in 2020 and is currently serving in the Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Expressing his elation, Ayan Jain remarked, “I was expecting a good rank, but it is just a coincidence that I also got the 16th rank which my elder brother got in 2020 CSE. It is a pleasant surprise for all of us.”

Both Arth and Ayan Jain are alumni of the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, adding to their academic prowess. Ayan, whose optional subject was mathematics, secured the 16th rank in his third attempt. In a twist of fate, he initially joined the Indian Police Service like his father but has now secured a coveted rank in the civil services exam, aligning with his brother’s achievement.

Reflecting on his future plans, Ayan Jain expressed a preference for joining the Madhya Pradesh cadre like his brother, contingent upon available vacancies. The success of the Jain brothers underscores their dedication and perseverance in pursuing excellence in the civil services arena.

In the broader context of the civil services examination, a total of 27 candidates from Madhya Pradesh secured different ranks in the CSE 2023. The rigorous selection process, comprising preliminary, main, and interview stages, culminates in the appointment of officers across various prestigious services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and IPS, among others.

The UPSC’s recent announcement of recommended candidates reflects diversity, with individuals from various categories being selected for prestigious positions. This recognition highlights the culmination of years of hard work and preparation for aspirants across the nation, signifying their readiness to serve the country in key administrative roles.
