Actor Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23, in an intimate ceremony at her Bandra apartment on Sunday. The couple hosted a grand reception at Bastian later that evening.
Days after the wedding, Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, expressed his emotions regarding his daughter’s marriage. Speaking to a news agency he said, “Yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai?
Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe.” He added, “44 years ago, Shatrughan Sinha married a very successful, very beautiful, very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi’s turn to marry the boy of her choice.”
Sonakshi’s brother, Luv Sinha, who was notably absent from the wedding, addressed his nonattendance in an interview. When asked about it, Luv told a news agency, “Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking.”
Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha were present at both the registry ceremony and the reception party on Sunday night. However, her twin brothers, Luv and Kush Sinha, were missing from the event. Their absence was confirmed by a source who mentioned, “Sonakshi’s parents attended the wedding and were naturally elated about the day. However, her brothers didn’t come to the wedding or the reception. The photographers didn’t spot the two entering the venue until the very end. Everyone found it to be really weird.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal registered their marriage under the provisions of the Special Marriage Act. The civil ceremony took place at Sonakshi’s new apartment, 81 Aureate, located near the RangSharda Auditorium at Bandra West, Mumbai.
The duo shared photos from the intimate ceremony attended by friends and family on Instagram.
They have since shared additional photos from their reception, which was attended by many from the film fraternity.
