In the Khadakwasla assembly constituency, Sanjay Aswale, the Assistant Election Officer in charge, has proposed the suspension of six Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) employees who were designated as polling center level officers. These employees, assigned to polling stations in the constituency, are accused of displaying negligence in their election duties.

The six staff members, who were appointed as polling station central level officers and included teachers from Thorve Primary School no. 162 B and Vidya Niketan 19 in Chandrabhaga Nagar area of Katraj, have been found to have neglected their responsibilities.

Sanjay Aswale emphasized the seriousness of the matter, stating, “The education officer of PMC has been directed to initiate suspension proceedings against these employees under Section 32 of the Representation of the People Act 1950. Their actions, characterized by inexcusable neglect, malpractice, and delays in carrying out their election duties despite repeated opportunities, warrant disciplinary action.”

The recommendation for suspension underscores the importance of diligence and responsibility in electoral processes, particularly in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of polling procedures.
