An essential improvement to parking facilities is the Airport Authority of India’s (AAI) Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP). Travellers using the Pune International Airport will benefit immensely from this effort as it offers a practical and well-organized parking facility.

What exactly is this MLCP?

Multilevel Car Parking (MLCP) means a multilevel structure used for car parking connected to all floors utilizing mechanical elevators. MLCP can be an independent structure or part of a building with other land uses. However, in the portion used for parking, no other land uses are permitted.

Santosh Dhoke, Airport Director, Pune exclusively told Pune Pulse, “We have incorporated this really special system in Chennai and Pune. Pune had space restrictions in the past as it is an airfield. But we have created a functional parking area that can accommodate about a thousand vehicles. The parking is fully automated and driven by technology. Some of the highlights of our freshly constructed parking space are digital payments (Fastag), user-friendly pricing (60 rs for 2 hours), free golf carts, and pickup points for cab providers. The feedback we’ve been receiving is excellent. In addition, there are several retail establishments on the first story and a food court on the second floor.”

Passengers may easily manage their arrivals and departures with the help of app-based cab services, hotel fleet accommodations, and designated parking and pickup locations.

Additionally, the provision of parking spots specifically reserved for AAI authorities and employees guarantees accessibility and effective operations. All things considered, AAI’s dedication to enhancing the travel experience for customers and other airport stakeholders is reflected in this MLCP project.
