A new Velvet Umbrella has been made for the 339th Palkhi ceremony of Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj. Rajesh Bhujbal, at the Vitthal temple in Pune’s Bhavani Peth, and his friends have prepared a special umbrella from Chennai to shade the palanquin.

Preparations are in full swing for the Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Prasthan ceremony for Ashadhi as it is just four days away. The Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sansthan is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the Warkaris are provided with clean drinking water, health services, and rain protection during the event.

This year, Jagadguru Sant Shri Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi will leave for Pandharpur from Dehu on June 28. The Sansthan has made elaborate preparations for the event. Vishal Maharaj More, the head of the Palkhi ceremony, said that the silver chariot of the Palkhi ceremony, Abdagiri, has been polished. He informed that 363 dindis have been registered for the Palkhi ceremony. The institute has sent a letter to all the Dindi heads of the ceremony along with the water, health, electricity, and road departments to provide adequate facilities to the devotees. Material required for food donation on Palkhi Marg has been purchased. Various musical instruments like Taal, Mridunga, Pakhwaj, and Veena along with the necessary pooja materials have been purchased.

Correspondence has been done to Mankari, Sevakari, Dindi Pramukh. Employees have been appointed for cleanliness in Deulwada and security guards have also been deployed, control rooms have been set up in various districts, ten water tankers have been provided, a 24-hour water supply has been ensured, CCTV cameras have been installed, and a round-the-clock power supply is available from Dehu road to Talwade. On the day of departure of the palanquin from the Mahadwara, Dindas will be allowed to enter and the way out is through the Taponidhi Narayan Maharaj entrance.

Special umbrella from Chennai

A new velvet Umbrella has been made for the 339th Palkhi ceremony of Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj. Rajesh Bhujbal, a devotee at the Vitthal temple in Pune’s Bhavani Peth, and his friends have prepared a special umbrella from Chennai to shade the palanquin. The umbrella was handed over to the Sansthan by Bhujbal and his friends. On the umbrella, the pictures of Shankha, Chakra, Tilak (scent), Garuda, and Hanuman are hand-painted on the umbrella. The other areas are nicely decorated. Sticks for umbrellas are made of natural bamboo twigs. A solid iron pipe of eight feet in height is used to hold the umbrella. A brass crown has been installed on the umbrella.

Dr Kishore Yadav, Chief Medical Officer of the Primary Health Centre in Dehugaon, stated that there is sufficient medicine stock, five treatment centres, an in-patient and out-patient department, ten ambulances, and a first aid kit for each patient.
