The recruitment process for the post of Police Constable has begun at the Pune City Police Commissionerate. A total of 20,382 applications have been received for 202 vacancies. A total of 18,714 male and 1,668 female candidates are in the fray.

A total of 19,352 applications were received from the general category, 779 from the ex-servicemen category and 269 from the sportspersons category. The physical test of the candidates has been started which will last till July 12 at the Police Headquarters Ground in Shivaji Nagar. On the first day, 500 male candidates from the general category were physically examined for the post of police constable and driver.

As many as 1,10,488 candidates have applied for 513 vacancies in the Pune City Jail West division. A total of 85,516 male and 24,967 female candidates had applied for the posts.

Arvind Chavaria, Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration), emphasizes the transparency of the recruitment process and encourages individuals to contact supervisory officers for information and take appropriate action.

Vinayak Musale, a candidate, has come fully prepared for recruitment and completed a physical examination. He and his family are passionate about becoming policemen, despite not having any family members in the police force.
