Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidates Sunetra Pawar and Supriya Sule campaign vigorously in the Khadakwasla constituency.

In Maharashtra, the political scene is buzzing in the Khadakwasla assembly constituency, which is part of the Baramati parliamentary seat, holding a significant 5.21 lakh voters. Sunetra Pawar from the NCP and Supriya Sule are the main contenders here.

Sunetra’s campaign is backed by her husband, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is actively involved in the constituency. Meanwhile, NCP veteran Sharad Pawar recently kicked off a major rally for his daughter Supriya in Warje, an area within Khadakwasla. Over the past elections in 2014 and 2019, the BJP has shown strong performance in this region, often outpolling Supriya.

The region includes diverse areas such as Katraj, parts of Sinhgad Road, Warje, Kothrud, Bavdhan, and some areas of Hinjewadi. Given the strategic importance of Khadakwasla, Baramati, and Indapur constituencies in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat, both Sunetra and Supriya are continuously engaging with the public through various meetings and home visits.

This election, the NCP is keen on improving its performance, particularly in Khadakwasla, to offset previous gains by the BJP. Ajit Pawar emphasized the importance of increasing their vote share here at a recent rally, noting that a strong showing in Khadakwasla could balance out weaker performances elsewhere.

Both candidates have been active on the ground, with Supriya addressing local civic issues and holding numerous small meetings. The competition appears evenly matched across other constituencies like Daund, Bhor, and Purandar, where both NCP and BJP are drawing similar support levels.

As the election approaches, the efforts of both parties are intensifying, with plans for joint rallies featuring major political figures, aiming to sway voters in this critical battleground.
