Pune: 1,675 voters who are disabled, over 85 years old, and emergency services workers & officers to avail Postal Voting Facility !

A postal voting facility for senior people over 85, disabled citizens, and critical service personnel has been made available for the first time in the district. 1,675 district voters have applied to use this facility to exercise their right to vote, according to information provided by the district election administration.

1,397 voters over 85 and 265 voters with disabilities have filled out the 12D application form in each of the district’s four seats, enabling them to exercise their right to vote from home. In the meantime, thirteen voters in the vital service have indicated that they would like to cast their ballots by mail by completing the 12D form and visiting the postal polling place (PVC).

Officials at the polling centre level visited senior residents over 85 years of age and those with disabilities who wanted to vote by mail and filled out the 12D form, per the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Additionally, police and staff who have completed the 12D application form in the designated vital service will be granted access to this facility.

Elderly and disabled persons would be individually visited on the day of voting in their respective constituencies to cast their ballots. On the days designated for that constituency, officers, and staff who have completed the 12D applications of the notified essential service may vote by mail at the Postal Voting Facility Centre (PVC) located in the Assistant Election Returning Officer’s office.
