The Ashadhi Wari ceremony, a revered tradition in Maharashtra, is set to commence soon, with meticulous preparations by various authorities. Scheduled for June 28, Saint Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin will journey from Dehugaon, while Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s will depart from Alandi on June 29. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently chaired a crucial meeting in Pune, directing district officials to ensure seamless arrangements.

The district administrations, along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have finalized their plans. Notably, 32 officers across Pune, Satara, and Solapur districts have been tasked with inspecting food stalls, hotels, and restaurants along the Palkhi Marg route. The focus is on ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, including proper licensing and adherence to cooking standards.

“Food items prepared along the Palkhi Marg and at designated rest stops will undergo rigorous inspections,” stated Suresh Annapure, Additional Commissioner of FDA. “We will take strict action against any violations found, including penalties for non-compliance.”

During the journey, the palanquins will make multiple stops, totaling 16 for Saint Tukaram Maharaj and 15 for Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. Each rest stop will be scrutinized to verify the quality and legality of food preparations. Samples will be collected for testing, and establishments failing to meet standards will face consequences.

The inspection team comprises 33 officers solely dedicated to monitoring food quality and safety standards. Their objective is to ensure that all food vendors and establishments uphold the prescribed guidelines without compromise.

The public has been urged to cooperate with officials to ensure a safe and spiritually enriching experience for all participants.
