There is a growing demand for strict action against party-goers and hikers frequenting Vetal Tekdi, a popular hill in Pune. Concerns have been raised regarding the disturbance caused by such activities, including cooking and drinking alcohol on the hill. Additionally, the presence of stray dogs poses a threat to the existence of peacocks in the area.

Citizens have expressed their dismay over the lack of seriousness from the administration in addressing these issues. Encroachment on the hills has led to their gradual disappearance, endangering the habitat of wild animals and birds.

It is imperative that the forest department, police administration, and citizens collectively take the initiative to preserve the natural habitat of Vetal Tekdi. Urgent measures need to be taken to curb activities that disturb the ecosystem and threaten the existence of wildlife in the area.

Efforts must be made to address the issue of stray dogs, as their unchecked population growth could have detrimental effects on the native wildlife population, particularly the national bird, the peacock. The administration must demonstrate the will to protect the hills and take proactive steps to prevent further degradation of the environment.

The transformation of Vetal Tekdi into an area resembling a slum is alarming, and immediate action is required to reverse this trend. Saving the hills and preserving the environment should be a collective responsibility, and concerted efforts are needed to ensure the sustainability of Vetal Tekdi for future generations.
