After completing his graduation in Pune, India, he enrolled for a master’s degree course in film editing at the American Film Institute. He is an Indian-born filmmaker who has edited various short films, shows and advertisements.

Department of Media and Communication, Fergusson College Former student Aaron D’Souza’s short film ‘Caroline’ has been nominated at the prestigious British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). The film was selected in the short film category of the Yugo BAFTA Student Award.

Aaron, who is originally from Los Angeles but grew up in Pune, was fond of watching movies and short films since childhood. With this interest, he joined the Department of Media and Communication at Fergusson College, Pune. After completing his graduation in Pune, India, he enrolled for a master’s degree course in film editing at the American Film Institute. 

While in this course, he and his colleagues created the short film ‘Caroline’. The film was selected in the student category of the prestigious BAFTA awards, out of 800 short films from 37 countries. The film will now compete in the ‘Live Action’ section, with winners announced on July 12. Aaron credits his success to his family, friends, and teachers, stating that the hard work put into the film paid off.

He is an Indian-born filmmaker who has edited various short films, shows and advertisements. He also has a diploma in Editing & VFX from P.A. Inamdar College of Visual Effects, Design & Arts in Pune, India. He has worked on 5 short films as an Editor and 6 short films & one feature as an Assistant Editor. He is proficient in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro X.

Yogesh Parale, Head of Dept of Media and Communication, Fergusson College expressed how the entire college and department are proud of Aaron’s achievement.
