In a bid to modernize and streamline the educational system, Maharashtra is set to implement significant changes starting from the academic year 2025-26. The state curriculum for classes Balwatika, Balwadi, Anganwadi, is undergoing a transformation, marking a departure from the existing textbooks for grades I and II.

An initiative introduced in the academic year 2023-24 paved the way for integrated educational materials.

These materials, available in four volumes, amalgamate pages from existing textbooks in Marathi, Hindi, English, and Urdu mediums, catering to students from Class I to VIII. This integration aims to enhance accessibility and coherence across different mediums of instruction.

In 2024-25, Maharashtra plans to furnish government, local bodies, aided, partially aided, private, and unaided schools with textbooks in an integrated format for additional mediums such as Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Sindhi, Tamil, Bengali, and semi-English.
These textbooks, totaling ten for medium and semi-English subjects, will encompass requisite booklets, ensuring comprehensive learning resources.

Furthermore, textbooks for compulsory subjects from classes 1st to 8th will be segmented into four parts, with optional subject textbooks available separately. This delineation seeks to facilitate focused learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.
