Varun Kulkarni, a resident of Yashwin Society, has urged authorities to investigate the matter of traffic congestion and publish the news to bring attention to the plight of residents. He has provided relevant information, including route maps coordinates, to highlight the severity of the issue.

According to the tweet made by Varun on X, the residents of Yashwin Society in Sus have raised urgent concerns over the heavy traffic of mixer, tipper trucks and other heavy vehicles, which has led to a surge in dust pollution, adversely impacting public health in the area. With thousands of students commuting to the school daily, the area has become accident-prone, raising fears for the safety of pedestrians and commuters. There is a looming health concern as many residents have reported suffering from respiratory issues such as sneezing and colds due to the excessive dust in the air.

According to Raghunandan Joshi, a resident of the Orchid society, the main issue is the lack of intervention of the PMC into the matter. Despite several pleas and letters being addressed to the authorities responsible for the safety and concern of the residents of Pune, there has been no action taken yet.

Similarly, another resident, Gaurav Suratkar, who resides in the Jeevan society, has expressed his disappointment over the PMC’s lack of concern over the issue. He further elaborates that he faces frequent traffic congestion around the bottleneck area near the Vibgyor school as trucks and other heavy vehicles block the pathway and are unable to turn around.

Despite residents’ pleas for intervention, suggestions such as arranging an alternate route from Mahalunge-Maan Hitech City have not been acted upon.

Varun expressed his disappointment over the lack of response from authorities. The residents requested the PMC once before as well over the issue of trucks blocking the roads but the PMC reportedly reverted that the issue does not concern them but the Roads and Traffic department.

Residents of Yashwin Society continue to await a meaningful response from the authorities as they seek relief from the adverse effects of heavy traffic and pollution on their health and safety.

In response to the tweet, Mangesh Dighe, the Environmental Conservation Officer, commented on the situation stating that the Traffic Police department should be responsible for looking after the situation. The issue does not concern PMC and the residents should take the matter to the Traffic Department.

Another resident of the area commented that an urgent action is needed on the construction vehicle movement near Vibgyor school in Sus, which are causing traffic congestion and dust problems. There is an urgent need for alternate routes for these vehicles and must be banned from using the narrow road.
