In a recent crackdown by the Sinhgad Road Police, minors were caught driving vehicles during a blockade, leading to the registration of FIRs against their parents. The police, led by Senior Inspector Vijay Kumbhar and his team, including Police Sub-Inspector Suresh Jaybhaye, Police Constable Shravan Shevale, Dipak Gabdul, and Home Guard Sonavane, took action during a traffic check between Tukai Nagar Circle and Sinhgad College Road.

As per the directives of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam, a Nakabandi was imposed in the area, resulting in the apprehension of two minors riding motorcycles without licenses. In response, the Regional Transport Officer emphasized the non-issuance of driving licenses to minors up to the age of 25, as mandated by the Motor Vehicles Act. Additionally, letters have been sent to cancel the permits of seized vehicles for a period of one year.

Sub-Inspector Shravan Shevale lodged complaints against the parents and vehicle owners, highlighting the irresponsible act of entrusting vehicles to underage individuals. An FIR was registered under Section 35, 199 of the Motor Vehicles Act, and the seized vehicles were impounded.

This incident underscores the importance of parental responsibility in ensuring minors do not operate vehicles without proper authorization. Parents are urged to adhere to the law and refrain from permitting their underage children to drive without valid licenses.
