As Akshaya Tritiya approaches this Friday, the demand for Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes has skyrocketed at the Pune Market Yard. Traders have seen a notable increase in imports and prices, up by 10% due to the festive fervor. It’s anticipated that mango prices will continue to rise for the next four days.

Around 10,000 to 11,000 boxes of mangoes from Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Raigad districts flooded the market last Sunday, marking a 10% surge from the previous week. Prices have also surged by 10%, ranging from 800 to 2500 rupees per box of 4 to 8 dozen raw mangoes. Additionally, ready-to-eat mangoes are being sold at Rs 400 to Rs 800 per dozen. This surge in demand is attributed to the upcoming Akshaya Tritiya, with both retailers and domestic consumers rushing to secure their share of the beloved fruit. 

Meanwhile, the influx of Karnataka Alphonso mangoes has also increased significantly. Despite a recent decrease in arrivals due to various factors, the past few days have seen a notable surge in Karnataka Alphonso mangoes. The prices range from Rs 800 to Rs 1400 per box of 4 to 5 dozen, depending on quality and size. He foresees a continued high inflow for the next month.

With the festive spirit driving up demand and prices, mango lovers are flocking to the market to indulge in this seasonal delight.
