Pune woman, 23, arrested for risking life by hanging from building near Jambhulwadi for Instagram Reel

A 23-year-old woman from Pune and her friend have been arrested after she performed a dangerous stunt for an Instagram Reel, dangling from the roof of a building. The individuals involved have been identified as Minakshi Salunkhe and Mihir Gandhi, aged 27. The third person, who filmed the video, is currently on the run.

According to a report, the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station traced the duo after the video gained attention online and sparked widespread outrage. The footage shows Salunkhe hanging from the top of a tall building while Gandhi supports her from the roof. The Reel went viral, drawing criticism for the pair’s risky behavior aimed at gaining social media attention.

The viral video led many social media users to urge the Pune Police to take action against Salunkhe and Gandhi. Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil of Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station confirmed that they were able to locate and summon the two, who were arrested late at night. They have been charged under IPC Section 336 and other related sections.

Inspector Patil mentioned that the offense is minor, with a potential jail term of less than six months or a fine, or both, meaning the two would not be held in custody. The police are continuing their search for the third person involved, who recorded the stunt on his mobile phone.
