In a startling discovery on Thursday morning in Phursungi, Pune, the body of a woman was found inside a water tanker near a powerhouse. The incident has caused a stir, prompting an investigation by the police to determine whether it was a case of murder or suicide.

The woman, identified as Kaushalya Mukesh Chavan (25 years old), from Dugad Chawl near JSPM College, Handewadi, had been reported missing to the Kondhwa Police Station. Kondhwa Police Station revealed that the tanker business is operated by Purushottam Narendra Sasane (27 years old), also residing in Dugad Chawl. The incident took place within Kondhwa police jurisdiction.

According to initial reports, the tanker was used throughout Wednesday to deliver water across various parts of Pune. Early Thursday, after filling water at Ramtekdi, they proceeded to a house near the Fursungi powerhouse. While unloading the water, anomalies were noticed, prompting an inspection of the tanker’s valve, which led to the grim discovery.

Upon lifting the lid, they found Kaushalya’s body submerged in the water. The police were immediately informed, and the body was retrieved for further investigation. An autopsy has been ordered to ascertain the cause of death. Mansing Patil, police inspector of Kondhwa police station informed that the deceased woman alongwith her husband and children had recently relocated to Undri, from their native place, Uttar Pradesh.

The mysterious circumstances surrounding Kaushalya’s disappearance and subsequent discovery in the water tanker have raised questions, with investigations underway to determine the exact sequence of events leading to her tragic demise.
