Pune’s Major Roads to Close for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti on Sunday, April 14th; Check Alternate Routes

On the occasion of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on Sunday (April 14th), significant traffic alterations are expected in Pune. As citizens gather to pay their respects at Pune Station, Arora Tower Camp, Vishrantwadi, and Dandekar Pool areas, traffic on the procession route will be diverted through alternative routes from 7 pm on April 13 to 2 am on April 15.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar has urged motorists to cooperate with the police by utilizing alternative routes during this period.

Changes in Traffic:

• Traffic going from Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted through Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk.

Alternate Route: Vehicles heading from Shahir Amar Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will proceed via RTO Chowk Jehangir Chowk to reach their destination.

• Traffic going from GPO Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted through GPO Chowk.

Alternate Route: Traffic from GPO Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be routed via Kirad Chowk Nehru Memorial Chowk to reach the destination.

• Traffic going from Pune Station Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted from Pune Station Chowk.

Alternate Route: Vehicles from Pune Station will proceed via Alankar Chowk to reach their destination.

• Traffic going from Narpatgir Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted through Narpatgir Chowk.

Alternate Route: Narpatgir Chowk to 15th August Chowk to Kamala Nehru Hospital to Pawle Chowk to Kumbharve Chowk will lead to the desired destination.

• Traffic from Banerjee Chowk heading to Shaheer Amar Sheikh Chowk will be diverted through Banerjee Chowk.

Alternate Route: From Banerjee Chowk to Power House Chowk, Narpatgir Chowk, 15th August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pavle Chowk, Kumbharve Chowk.

Ambulances will be permitted to enter Sassoon Hospital through the entrance next to the dead house for urgent patients.

Parking Arrangements for Vehicles:

For citizens’ vehicles coming to salute the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar:

• Parking arrangements have been made at Neighbor S.S.P.M.S. Maidan (for two-wheelers and four-wheelers), Tukaram Shinde parking lot at Pune Station (for two-wheelers and four-wheelers), and at Sassoon Colony (for two-wheelers).

Motorists heading to Arora Tower Chowk should park their vehicles at Pay-and-Park on Tarapore Road, East Street, and other nearby roads.

Changes in Traffic System in Dandekar Bridge Area:

Traffic from Swargate to Sinhagad Road:

• Savarkar Chowk to Thorle Bajirao Peshwa Path to Kalpana Hotel Chowk to No. C.Phadke to Mangirbaba Chowk to Senadat Police Chowki Chowk to Bal Shivaji to Asha Hotel Chowk to Sinhagad Road.

Traffic from Sinhagad Road to Swargate:

• From Asha Hotel Chowk, turn left to Bal Shivaji to Sena Dutt Police Chowki Chowk to Mangirbaba Chowk to N.C. Phadke Chowk to Kalpana Hotel Chowk to Sanas Putla Chowk, as per convenience.

Traffic coming from Shastri Road:

• Vehicles from Senadat Chowk should turn left from Mangirbaba Chowk to N. C. Phadke, proceeding towards the square.
