In a recent interview with India Today, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan shed light on the security situation following a shooting incident near his family’s Mumbai residence. Khan expressed disdain towards those threatening his son Salman Khan, labelling them as ‘jail’ or illiterate. He also disclosed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has ensured additional police protection for the Khan family.

“What’s there to talk about ye jail log jo kehte hain maar denge tab pata lagega na (These illiterate people say you’ll learn your lesson when we kill you),” said Salim Khan, emphasizing the seriousness of the threats. He further mentioned that Mumbai Police have assured protection for them and their acquaintances.

Regarding Salman’s safety, Salim revealed that he has been advised to maintain his routine work schedule. However, he emphasized the importance of allowing the police to handle the matter discreetly, urging everyone involved to refrain from discussing the incident publicly.

The details obtained from the Mumbai Crime Branch indicate that moments before the shooting, two suspects parked a motorcycle around 100 meters away from Salman’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The assailants then approached the house on the bike, fired shots, and swiftly fled the scene upon noticing no one outside.

In response to the incident, Mumbai Police has filed a case against Anmol Bishnoi, who allegedly made threatening remarks on Facebook regarding the shooting. Anmol, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is under investigation for his involvement.

Furthermore, two individuals identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), hailing from Bihar, were arrested by the Kachchh police and subsequently handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. The accused were presented before Mumbai’s Killa Court and remanded to custody until April 25 in connection with the shooting incident.

Despite the security concerns, Salman Khan continues to focus on his upcoming projects, including the film “Sikandar” and his role as the host of Bigg Boss OTT 3.
