Pune, 13 April 2024: In a heartwarming celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas 325, the Sikh Helpline Foundation marks  the occasion with a remarkable green initiative at Gurudwara  in Pune Camp. The centerpiece of the event is the distribution of 325 plants to community members, setting a powerful example for environmental consciousness.

As Sikhs, our daily prayers resonate with the profound words of Guru Granth Sahib:
“Pawan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharta Mahata”
These words translate to “Air is Guru, Water is our Father, and Earth is our Mother,” underscoring Guru’s deep reverence for the environment.

Raj Singh, the visionary founder of Sikh Helpline Foundation, expresses the organization’s commitment towards driving  the community towards green initiatives. Each community member will  receive a Jade plant, symbolizing prosperity and suitable for indoor cultivation. The overarching goal is to raise awareness about climate change and inspire people to embrace the principles of Guru .

The event will witness enthusiastic participation from the community, with many visiting the gurdwara to learn about and engage in the green initiative. Those who demonstrate a profound understanding of Guru’s principles would be gifted a plant, thereby attracting the interest of more passersby.

In commemorating Khalsa Sajna Divas 325 with this environmentally conscious gesture, the Sikh Helpline Foundation will not only pay tribute to the teachings of Guru  but will also sow the seeds of a greener and more sustainable future for the community and the world at large.
