Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been experiencing robust sales in recent months, largely thanks to the introduction of new models like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Innova Hycross hybrid. Despite being the most affordable option in India, the Toyota Glanza doesn’t suffer from long waiting periods like its pricier counterparts. However, the CNG version of Glanza does have a waiting period of up to three months.

The Toyota Fortuner continues to dominate the full-size SUV segment, but soon, a mild hybrid variant is expected to be launched, promising better performance and efficiency. Some variants of the seven-seater Fortuner currently have waiting periods of up to three months. Meanwhile, the updated Innova Crysta, launched in early 2023, is experiencing much longer waiting periods, stretching up to twelve months.

The demand for the Toyota Innova Hycross is exceptionally high, resulting in a waiting period of over a year. Similarly, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is facing significant demand, leading to waiting periods of up to eight months for select trims. In India, the rebadged version of the Innova Hycross is sold as the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. Additionally, the Hyryder shares several components with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Both the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara are manufactured at TKM’s facility in Bidadi, Karnataka. The Innova Hycross, available in India for over a year now, comes in VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O) trim levels. Due to high demand, bookings for the ZX and ZX(O) trims have remained closed for a significant period. For the VX and VX(O) trims, waiting periods range from twelve to thirteen months, depending on the location.

Just recently, Toyota introduced the Urban Cruiser Taisor in India, starting at Rs. 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki Fronx features new DRLs and grille, distinct alloy wheels, and slightly different tail lamps compared to its original model. It comes in two variants – 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol, both of which have a CNG option.
