On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, a significant development is set to take place on the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway. As part of the Highway Traffic Management System overseen by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the installation of a gantry will be conducted at kilometer 19.100 on the channel from Pune to Mumbai.

This crucial work is scheduled to occur between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, necessitating a two-hour traffic block during that period. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
During the installation process, all types of light and heavy vehicles traveling on the Mumbai channel will experience a complete halt. However, alternative routes are available for motorists to ensure smooth travel.

For light vehicles heading from Pune to Mumbai on the expressway, the diversion point will be at lane kilometer 55,000 on the Mumbai channel. These vehicles will be redirected to Mumbai
Pune National Highway no. 48, utilizing the old Pune-Mumbai highway route through Khopoli town. From there, vehicles will continue via the Mumbai channel, passing through the Shedung toll gate.

This rerouting plan aims to minimize inconvenience for travelers while facilitating the necessary infrastructure development on the expressway.
Therefore, the temporary traffic block on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is essential for the installation of a gantry, enhancing the highway’s traffic management system. Motorists are urged to follow the provided alternative routes to ensure a hassle-free journey during the designated hours.
