In a bizarre turn of events, a vegetarian woman in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, ordered a Paneer Tikka sandwich but received chicken instead, prompting her to take legal action against the restaurant. Nirali, a staunch vegetarian, ordered her dinner from ‘Pick Up Meals by Terra’ in Ahmedabad’s Science City on May 3, expecting a Paneer Tikka sandwich. However, upon taking a few bites, she realized that the sandwich contained chicken instead of paneer.
Upset by the mix-up, Nirali filed a complaint with the Deputy Health Officer of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, seeking damages for the distress caused. Although the Food Department imposed a ₹5,000 fine on the restaurant, Nirali expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the incident was traumatic and warranted more significant compensation.
