Passengers of SpiceJet flight SG 51 from Pune to Dubai faced an unexpected ordeal as their journey was marred by a staggering 7-hour delay. Initially scheduled for 8:00 PM IST, the departure was successively pushed back to 8:45 PM, then 10:30 PM, followed by 12:00 AM, and now rescheduled yet again to 3:00 AM IST, leaving travelers, including a 7-month pregnant woman and a 3-year-old child, stranded at Pune Airport.

In a tweet directed at @AjitPawarSpeaks, @PMOIndia, and @CMOMaharashtra, a frustrated passenger highlighted the dire situation at the airport. They criticized the inadequacies of Pune Airport, inaugurated recently but lacking in essential facilities. The tweet lamented that even a tier-1 railway station surpasses it in terms of amenities and affordability.

Moreover, the food provided to waiting passengers was described as subpar, comprising leftover packets with stale samosas and questionable rice. This only added to the discontent of passengers who expected better service standards from the airline.

The stranded passengers, having completed their immigration procedures, are unable to leave the airport premises and seek rest at their nearby homes, which are just minutes away. This lack of clarity and the inconvenience caused has underscored the need for improved communication and operational efficiency from SpiceJet.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by air travelers in India, highlighting the importance of timely and transparent communication from airlines, especially during unforeseen delays. As passengers await further updates, the onus lies on both airlines and authorities to address these issues promptly to ensure a smoother travel experience in the future.
