A committee has been formed to investigate the staff of Sassoon Hospital for allegedly tampering with blood samples in the Kalyaninagar Porsche incident. State Women and Child Development Commissioner Prashant Naranaware announced that another committee will investigate the behavior of the members of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).

The accident occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyaninagar, Pune. A minor, allegedly intoxicated, drove a speeding Porsche that collided with a two-wheeler, killing two people instantly. As the driver was a minor, the case was filed with the Juvenile Justice Board.
The JJB granted bail to the minor under controversial conditions. These included writing a 300-word essay, following traffic rules, and helping accident victims. This lenient bail sparked outrage across the state.

The Women and Child Development Department constituted a five-member committee last week to investigate the JJB’s decision. This committee, led by a deputy commissioner, must submit its report next week. The inquiry will determine if the JJB members followed proper rules while granting bail.

Commissioner Prashant Naranaware highlighted that the JJB comprises one judicial member and two state-appointed members. The committee will review the conduct of the state-appointed JJB members.

The investigation into Sassoon Hospital focuses on allegations that hospital staff tampered with the minor’s blood sample to show no alcohol content. The probe aims to ensure accountability and transparency in handling the case.
