Police custody extended for 10 individuals linked to the Pune bar drug video case; the bar has been sealed, and its license suspended.

A court in Pune extended the police custody of ten people until July 3. These individuals were arrested in connection with the Pune bar drug video case.

The accused include Santosh Kamthe, Vitthal Kamthe, Yogendra Girase, Ravi Maheshwari, Akshay Kamthe, Dinesh Mankar, Rohan Gaikwad, and Manas Mallick, all linked to Liquid Leisure Lounge (L3), along with Nitin Thombre and Karan Mishra, who were seen in the viral video. The police requested more time to investigate their connections with alleged drug dealers.

The prosecution told the court that they needed more time to uncover the links between the accused and the main drug peddler. They revealed that Abhishek Sonawane, one of the arrested, had supplied drugs to Thombre and Mishra. To find the main supplier, police arrested Sonawane, Omkar Sakat, and a Nigerian national. Later, Aryan Patil and Akshay Swami were also arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to Sonawane.

With the arrests of Patil and Swami, the total number of people arrested in the case rose to 15. The investigation started after Thombre and Mishra were seen in a video with drugs inside the L3 bar’s toilet. A case was filed against the bar for operating beyond the permissible time limit. The excise department also filed a case for violating liquor stock norms, suspended the bar’s license, and sealed it. The Pune Municipal Corporation demolished unauthorized structures at the bar and booked two owners under the MRTP Act.
