Following recent reports, it has come to light that several celebrities are currently under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to the Mahadev money-laundering case.

Kapil Sharma and Hina Khan have been summoned by the central agency, with their names being implicated subsequent to actor Ranbir Kapoor’s summons the previous day. Both the comedian and the actor have received official summonses and are expected to appear before the ED on Friday.

According to a tweet by news agency ANI, the ED has summoned comedian Kapil Sharma and actor Huma Qureshi in connection with the Mahadev betting app case, as confirmed by sources within the ED.

Actor Hina Khan has also been called for the same purpose, as reported by a news channel. It has been reported that Ranbir Kapoor was previously summoned to provide insight into the origin of the funds he received for promoting the betting app.

An ED source, quoted in the same report, stated, “Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned to gain an understanding of the betting business transactions. At this stage, he has not been summoned as a suspect. His interrogation is crucial in order to ascertain his knowledge of the sources of the funds he received. This will potentially shed light on the intentions of the promoters and their associations.”

The report further stated, “Ranbir Kapoor may not be involved in any conspiracy, but his involvement is vital in comprehending the extent of the scam.” Allegedly, Ranbir received payments for his involvement in promotional activities for the aforementioned betting app.

It is also reported that several other celebrities and actors will soon be summoned for similar reasons. Sources within the ED have informed the news outlet that a total of 17 Bollywood celebrities are implicated in this investigation.

This includes Shraddha Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, and others who attended or performed at the wedding of the company’s head, Sourabh Chandrakar in February of this year as well as the company’s success party in September 2022.
