Fatal Accident: Minor daughter of Police Constable hits bikers in Shirur, one dead and one injured 

In Shirur, a minor daughter of a police constable runs over two bikers, one dies on the spot while the other is seriously injured.

Pune: While the Porsche accident in the Kalyaninagar area is still fresh, now a similar fatal incident has happened in Shirur Taluka. A minor girl of a police constable has crushed two youths under a jeep. The accident took place on Vadgaon Bhandi-Aranagaon Road in Shirur. Police Constable, Patil Santosh Lende, allowed his minor daughter to drive the jeep while he sat next to her in the passenger seat. The Shirur Police has filed a case in this matter.

Bikers, Mahendra Bandey and Arun Memane were traveling towards Nhavaregaon for an oil delivery when the jeep, driven by the minor, collided with their motorcycle. Meanwhile, Police Constable Santosh Lenge of Arangaon in Shirur Taluka was going to the farm in his jeep when he gave his daughter, a minor, the driving controls. When the jeep reached Arangaon, the girl lost control of the jeep and it ended up crushing the motorcycle riders. Immediately after the accident, the owner of the pickup fled from the spot without looking back.  

The crash was so violent that the pickup carried both the bikers for a distance of 40 to 50 feet. Arun Memane died on the spot while Mahendra Bandey suffered serious injuries. Citizens rushed to the spot to carry out rescue work.  This incident has caused significant outrage in the area. On the complaint of the deceased’s brother, Satish Vitthal Memane, Shirur police have registered a case against Police Patil Santosh Lende and his minor daughter under Sections 304, 109, 337, 338, 279, and Sections 184, 134 A, B, 4, 5, and 181 of the Motor Act.
