In a bizarre case, Flipkart’s customer support calls man to resolve the issue faced in placing order six years ago.

A Mumbai man received a call from Flipkart customer support six years after placing an order on the e-commerce website. Ahsan Kharbai shared his bizarre experience on the social media platform X, he said in the post that he had ordered a pair of Sparx slippers in May 2018. However, the order was never delivered.

Ahsan’s post included a screenshot of his order history, showing the slippers were still marked as “arriving today” on the Flipkart app. Despite persistently following up, the slippers never arrived, and Ahsan had given up hope of receiving them.

To his surprise, Ahsan received a call from Flipkart customer support inquiring about the issue with his order. “They never arrived, and it always showed ‘arriving today’ on their app,” he explained. “Till this day, it shows ‘arriving today.’”

The call from Flipkart came after Ahsan had clicked on the order in the app to see if anything had changed. “The customer care representative asked me if I had received any call from the logistics team. He ended the call by saying, ‘We are very sorry for this, sir,’” Ahsan recounted to a news agency on June 26.

As the order was for cash-on-delivery, so he did not pursue the issue further at that time. However, he noted that there was no option on the app to cancel the order. “I just want them to close that order because whenever I open my Flipkart order section, this is the first order that I see,” he said.

His post has collected over 1.3 lakh views on X, along with several comments. Some said they had had similar experiences with Flipkart.

One X user said his order has been ‘out for delivery’ since 2015. Many more shared stories of similar delays, although none of them as long as six years.

“Good things take time,” joked one person in the comments section.

“This is like cold cases in crime dramas,” another said.

“This will not happen in any country except India,” added another person

Flipkart’s customer support team contacted him and apologized for the inconvenience, though it remains to be seen whether the order will finally be resolved.
