Manpreet Kaur, a 24-year-old Indian-origin woman studying in Melbourne, Australia, tragically passed away. She died on the spot, shortly after boarding a Qantas flight bound for Punjab on June 20. This marked her long-awaited return home after four years away from her family.

However, she boarded easily but collapsed and died moments after fastening her seatbelt aboard the aircraft still docked at the boarding gate. Despite swift response from cabin crew and emergency services, they were unable to save her. Sources suggest she may have suffered complications related to tuberculosis, a condition she was reportedly battling.

Manpreet Kaur was pursuing her dream of becoming a chef while working at Australia Post. Her friends and roommate remember her fondly as kind-hearted and adventurous, enjoying travels across Victoria with her companions.

Prior to her untimely death, Manpreet was eagerly anticipating reuniting with her parents in India, her first visit since moving to Australia in March 2020.

In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Kaur’s grieving family during this challenging time.
