The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared and rewarded team India by announcing a cash prize of Rs. 125 crores after India won the T20 World Cup Finals on June 29, 2024. 

India presented a massive and eventful win of seven runs against the South African players in Barbados. South Africa lost its innings at 169 runs and eight wickets. However, the target was to chase 176.  India has secured the T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy with all-win matches. 

Rohit Sharma has experienced the victory of winning a World Cup twice in his career- the 2011 Cup under MS Dhoni’s leadership and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. 

Comparatively, when Dhoni had won the World Cup of 50 overs, the teammates were awarded Rs. 2 crores each. The Indian team selectors in 2011 got Rs. 25 lakhs each, and the coach with Rs. 50 lakhs. At the same time, the Indian team players received Rs. 2 crores. Thus, there is an immense difference between the appreciation levels that gradually skyrocketed. The craze of the World Cup tournament has equally tripled.  

In summary, it is essential to understand that the BCCI has made immense efforts to enhance the performance of international cricket for India. The competence and monetary appreciation demonstrate the hype of the sport in India and worldwide.
