In a recent incident reported from Pune, Azad Mumtaz Khan, aged 41 and a gym trainer by profession, was apprehended by the authorities under serious charges. The arrest took place on June 30, 2024, around 20:45 hrs near the iron bridge on Satara road. The case was registered at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, Pune City.

Azad Khan was found in possession of 13 bottles of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection IP (TERVAMI) which cost over Rs.4200, commonly used illicitly for bodybuilding purposes. This injection, known for its serious health risks when used without medical supervision, was discovered without any purchase receipts, raising concerns about its illegal distribution and use. The police investigation, led by Senior Police Inspector DS Patil and Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Kadam, highlighted the severity of the offense. Deputy Inspector of Police Dhiraj Gupta also contributed to the investigation, underscoring the collaborative effort of law enforcement in addressing such crimes.

Azad Khan, residing in Ambegaon, now faces charges under IPC Section 276 and 336 for possession and potential illegal sale of the controlled substance. The authorities emphasized that such substances pose significant risks to public health and safety, warranting strict legal action.
