In many societies of Pimpri Chinchwad city, some local goons of Pimpri Chinchwad city are constantly beating the society holders as well as the chairman, secretary and other officials of the management committee and threatening them. Regarding the incident of beating, when a complaint has been made to the police station in Pimpri Chinchwad city through the society, the complaint is not properly registered by the police, the investigation is not properly conducted.

Such incidents are happening frequently in the cities of Pimpri Chinchwad as these events go unnoticed and non-investigation of complaints received in time.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sanjeevan Sangale, President, Chikhali Moshi Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, said “In many societies of Pimpri Chinchwad city, such incidents are happening frequently, but the police administration under pressure from someone does not register a complaint or even if a complaint is registered, appropriate action is not taken to prevent such incidents. For the protection of society owners, like in Mumbai city, in Pimpri Chinchwad city also, a separate police officer should be appointed in each police station to deal with the problems of society owners so that all these matters can be investigated quickly and the criminals can be punished accordingly.”

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, on March 2, 2024, in Mahindra Anthea Society, Pimpri, the secretary of this society & complainant Sagar Killekar was severely beaten up by outside thugs, after which the secretary got severely injured.

A case has been registered at Pimpri Police Station where the 5 accused, identified as Ketan Thorat & 4 unidentified accused, have been booked under Sections 324, 504, 141, 143, 147, 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Sanjeevan Sangale further says “When we complained about this beating, proper action was not taken by our police administration. On the contrary, a strange job is being done in our police station to investigate only those who were beaten up and register crimes against them. Similar incidents have taken place in Chikhali, Moshi, Charholi, Pimpri, Punawale, Pimple Saudagar, Sangvi, Ravet societies where local gangsters have come to the society and beaten them up. Taking note of all the above serious matters, like Mumbai Police Commissionerates, in our city of Pimpri Chinchwad, every police station should be made a separate department for various legal problems of society owners.”

Sanjeevan Sangale further says that a senior police officer should be specially appointed so that such a complaint can be recorded and action can be taken as soon as possible. They have requested to take such action to prevent such an incident. It is also requested that immediate action should be taken on the complaints received from the societies after such incidents.
