Maharashtra Rain Forecast: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the state for the next three to four days.

The Meteorological Department has issued a high alert for heavy rainfall in Konkan and Central Maharashtra. Districts including Pune, Ahmednagar, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Beed, Sambhajinagar, and Palghar are expected to experience extremely heavy rains.

On Saturday, intense rainfall lashed parts of Pune, leading to waterlogged streets and disrupted traffic. The Meteorological Department has also predicted winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km/h for today in the same regions.

Sindhudurg district has been particularly affected by torrential rains and is under a red alert. The local administration has urged residents to take necessary precautions. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea due to the expected high wind speeds.

In Beed district, heavy rain occurred overnight, causing rivers and streams to overflow and flooding fields. The early onset of the monsoon in the first week of June has brought relief to farmers, who have started their sowing activities. The Meteorological Department forecasts continued heavy rainfall in Beed for the next four days.

Kolhapur district also witnessed the beginning of heavy rains yesterday evening. The intense rainfall led to significant water flow over the railway bridge onto the bypass road.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of severe weather.
