Maharashtra is experiencing significant rainfall, with moderate to heavy showers reported across Konkan, Central Maharashtra, and Marathwada. The southwest monsoon has now covered 95% of the country, with only parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh still awaiting the monsoonal rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the monsoon will cover the entire country within the next two days, stabilize at the Himalayan base, and lead to intensified rains from July 5 to 6.

Recent Rainfall Patterns

In the last 24 hours, Vidarbha and Central Maharashtra recorded moderate rainfall, while Konkan and the Ghats experienced heavy showers. According to the IMD, these regions will continue to receive heavy to moderate rain until July 3.

Moderate rainfall is expected in Vidarbha, whereas Marathwada will see less rainfall due to unfavorable monsoon winds.
