Maharashtra Women to Get Rs 1,500 Monthly from July Under ‘Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme’ – Check Eligibility and How to Apply

Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister, on Friday announced the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme for women ahead of the assembly elections. Under this scheme, all women between 21 to 60 years of age in the state will get Rs 1,500 per month. This scheme will be implemented from July 2024.

The ‘Mukhya Mantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Scheme’, which was announced in the budget, has been executed with a GR for its implementation. The GR provides details on eligibility criteria for women.

Scheme Overview

• Financial Benefit: Rs 1,500 per month deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
• Start Date: July 2024.
• Target Group: Women aged 21 to 60 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• Annual Family Income: Not exceeding Rs 2,50,000.
• Residency: Must be a resident of Maharashtra.
• Eligible Women: Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women.
• Exclusions:
• Women from families with income taxpayers.
• Women employed or pensioned by government departments.
• Women receiving over Rs 1,500 from other government financial schemes.
• Women from families owning more than five acres of agricultural land or four-wheelers (excluding tractors).
• Families with a sitting or former MP/MLA.

Application Process

Required Documents:

• Aadhaar Card.
• Maharashtra Domicile/Birth Certificate.
• Income Certificate.
• Bank Account Passbook (first page).
• Passport size photograph.
• Ration Card.
• Undertaking for scheme compliance.

Submission:

• Applications can be filled out online through the portal/mobile app/Setu Suvidha Kendra.
• Verified by Anganwadi workers/Supervisors/Gram Panchayat/Ward Officers.
• Submitted to the competent authority for approval.

Payment: Eligible women will receive the amount in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts monthly.
