An incident that highlights the dangers of reckless social media stunts, a video of a man overfilling an SUV’s diesel tank at a fuel station in Rajasthan has gone viral. The video has received backlash raising serious safety concerns. The video, is being shared widely on various platforms. The clip shows the man performing the dangerous act and making a victory hand gesture and twirling his mustache.

The video captures the man at a fuel station in Rajasthan. It shows, him deliberately overfilling his vehicle’s diesel tank. After the tank is overflowing, the man is seen making a triumphant hand gesture and twirling his mustache. As the video progresses, he is also shown hanging out of the sunroof of the moving vehicle. Towards the end, the man is seen drinking a beverage with his companion. A combination of continuous reckless behavior.

Journalist Nishant Sharma shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), tagging the Rajasthan Police. His post calls for action. “Watch the antics of the rich kid to make a reel… wasted diesel, a big accident could have happened, @PoliceRajasthan should take cognizance of the viral video and take strict action,” Sharma wrote.

The video has drawn widespread condemnation from social media users. Users expressed concerns about the potential hazards such stunts pose to public safety. They urged authorities to take strict action against the individual to prevent such dangerous behavior from being glamorized and emulated.

The Police acknowledged the post and stated that they are looking into the matter, after the video caught the internet’s attention. Ajmer Police responded to it saying, “Sir, the concerned officer has been informed about the above matter.”

Shared on July 1, the video amassed over 2,20,000 views as several social media users lashed out at the man for risking lives. 

Reacting to the viral post, a user wrote, 

“This is an invitation to major accidents. Their vehicles should be confiscated and they should be imprisoned with heavy fines.” 

Another user commented, “Action should be taken against the petrol pump as well as against these two boys.”
