Visitors to Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) in Bengaluru can now experience a new Leopard safari and buy discounted saplings, thanks to an eco-tourism and afforestation initiative.

The leopard safari covers 20 hectares of deciduous forest, offering a secure and natural habitat for animals and visitors. It features multiple protective measures like a railway barricade, a 4.5-meter chain-link fence, and 1.5-meter metal sheets at a 30-degree angle, all meeting central zoo authority guidelines. Home to eight leopards, this area lets visitors safely observe these majestic big cats in their natural setting.

Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru is South India’s first and India’s largest. Its hilly, green terrain naturally attracts leopards, with 14 currently housed in the rescue center. The park plays a key role in wildlife conservation by rescuing leopard cubs from nearby fields.

BBP now offers reduced-price saplings to promote afforestation and biodiversity awareness. Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre highlighted the educational value. The park also launched construction for a skywalk and new animal enclosures, connecting the zoo with the butterfly park for better viewing of the canopy and birdlife. BBP’s eco-tourism and conservation efforts aim to enrich visitor experiences and set a global benchmark for wildlife parks.
