Pune, Dehu,  June 27, 2024: 

The 339th Palkhi Ceremony or Ashadi Wari Pilgrimage will see the departure of Jagatguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi from Dehu to Pandharpur on June 28, with the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in attendance.

Thousands of Warkaris and devotees from across Maharashtra are converging in Dehu for the Palkhi Ceremony. The villagers of Dehu Gaon have left no stone unturned in the preparations creating a vibrant atmosphere around the temple of Jagatguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj. 

Along the Palkhi route, various organizations as well as local residents will provide food to the ‘Warkari’s. The Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Mandir Sansthan, Dehu Nagar Panchayat, and Dehu Road Police have collaborated to ensure the success of the ceremony.

Manik Maharaj More, Vishal Maharaj More, and Santosh Maharaj More, have informed that the Palkhi Ceremony will begin on Friday at 2:30 pm from the Bhajan Mandap. All the arrangements are supervised by the President of the temple Purushottam Maharaj More and his coordinators. 

To minimize traffic issues between Nigdi and Dehu Road (today and tomorrow- 28th and 29th June ) on the old Pune- Mumbai highway, traffic will be diverted on the Katraj- Dehu Road bypass highway on Saturday. No heavy vehicles will be allowed to enter Dehu on Friday and Saturday.

Here’s the Palkhi Ceremony Schedule For Friday:

  1. Morning aarti at Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj mandir- 4:30 am 
  2. Maha Pooja at Shree Vitthal Rakhumai temple and Shila Mandir Sant Tukaram Maharaj- 5:00 am 
  3. Maha pooja at Narayan Maharaj Samadhi temple by trustees- 5:30 am 
  4. Sant Tukaram Maharaj Paduka Poojan at Inamdar Wada- 9:00 am to 11:00 am 
  5. Keertan by Dehukar Maharaj- 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
  6. Arrival of Tukaram Maharaj’s padukas at Bhajan mandap- 2:30pm 
  7. Starting of the Palkhi ceremony with distinguished guests as attendees- 2:30pm
