Rahul Gandhi is set to participate in the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, joining NCP leader Sharad Pawar. A senior Congress leader confirmed that Gandhi will visit the Vitthal temple in Pandharpur on July 13 or 14 and is expected to join the yatra from Malshiras to Velapur.

Ashadhi Ekadashi, celebrated on July 17, is a significant festival in Maharashtra, drawing lakhs of devotees, including common people and Warkaris, who gather to see the saints’ palkhis (palanquins) travel to Pandharpur.

Prominent politicians, including Sharad Pawar, will walk 17 km from Baramati to Indapur as part of the celebrations. Rahul Gandhi’s participation in this event, akin to his previous involvement in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, will further showcase his commitment to connecting with the people.

The Congress party, having secured 13 seats in Maharashtra in the recent Lok Sabha elections, is in a strong position. Gandhi’s involvement in the Ashadhi Wari before the assembly elections aims to resonate with millions of Warkaris and solidify his image as a leader of the common people.
