Pimpri: The Property Tax Collection Department of the Municipal Corporation collected ₹432 crores in property tax in the first quarter of the financial year. There are over 630,000 registered properties in the city, including residential, industrial, non-residential, mixed, and vacant lands. This year, 54% of taxpayers have paid their property tax in the first quarter, availing various discounts. Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has thanked the aware taxpayers for paying their taxes and taking advantage of the discounts.

The Tax Collection Department implemented various measures to encourage citizens to pay their property tax. Through these measures, different types of awareness campaigns were conducted to inform taxpayers about property tax discounts. As a result, citizens prioritized paying their property tax in the first quarter. Due to awareness about the discounts, 54% of property owners have paid their property tax in the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25.

73% Taxpayers Paid Online.
Out of the total property owners in the city, 357,011 property owners have paid ₹432 crores in tax, with 262,522 (73%) of them paying online and availing of the discounts.

Highest Payment from Residential Property Owners…


Like last year, this year too, around 400 women distributed bills to property owners through the ‘Siddhi’ project implemented by the corporation. As a result, citizens paid their taxes by June 30th to avail the discounts. The collective efforts of all employees in the department have led to consistency in tax collection. Out of the 17 zones, Wakad had the highest number of taxpayers, with 49,036 citizens paying ₹68 crores, while the Pimprigaon zone had the lowest, with only 3,982 property owners paying ₹3 crores. Additionally, 311,067 residential property owners paid ₹260 crores, as stated by Assistant Commissioner Nilesh Deshmukh.
