Pimpri woman duped of Rs 10 Lakh in online trading fraud

Pune- A woman residing in Pimpri lost Rs 10.2 lakh in an online trading fraud between April 2 and 9. According to the police, she came across an advertisement on social media about investments. On clicking the link, she was added to a group offering 300% profit on her stock investments.
She transferred Rs 10.2 lakh in multiple bank accounts in the period of seven days. The crooks kept demanding money without allowing her to withdraw any amount. Until one day the woman stopped responding and promptly filed a complaint with the cyber police. A case has been registered. The police are currently investigating the matter.
In a recent incident, a 42-year-old Kondhwa resident lost 11 lakh in a restaurant review scam.
