Pune, May 30:

The number of devotees visiting Char Dham has significantly increased, leading to unprecedented crowds. The local administration has observed that the rising number of devotees is straining all types of facilities, causing inconvenience to the pilgrims. To alleviate this congestion and ensure a smoother darshan experience, the Uttarakhand administration has banned VIP darshan until May 31, 2024.

In light of the increasing number of pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government has implemented an online registration process for those undertaking the Char Dham pilgrimage. This measure aims to streamline the darshan process and prevent any inconvenience to the devotees. Registration is mandatory for darshan. Pilgrims should pre-register at https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/. Devotees are allowed darshan only on the dates for which they have registered.

Elderly and ailing pilgrims are advised to undergo a medical examination before starting their journey. The Uttarakhand government’s Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare has issued guidelines available at https://health.uk.gov.in/pages/display/140-char-dham-yatra-health-advisory. Pilgrims are urged to follow these guidelines and cooperate with the administration, as requested by Radha Raturi, Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand Government, Dehradun.
