Pune: 3 family members died due to electrocution while drying clothes in Dapodi near Daund 

Three members of the same family were tragically killed because of electrocution while drying a towel in front of their house in Dapodi area in Daund.

Pune- In a shocking incident, three members of a family were electrocuted in Dapodi district this morning. The husband, wife, and their son were tragically killed in the incident. The victims were identified as Surendra Devidas Bhalekar (45), Adika Sunil Bhalekar (40), and Parshuram Sunil Bhalekar (17). Sunil Bhalekar was drying a towel after a shower in front of his house when he was electrocuted. His wife, Adika, was also electrocuted in an attempt to save her husband. Parshuram, their son, was pulled into this too while trying to save his parents. 

Sunil Bhalekar had two sons and one daughter. The daughter was out for tuition and their second son was at their native place. Therefore, they were absent from the house when the incident occurred. Sunil Bhalekar, a native of North Solapur, was working as a centering worker in the construction sector of the Dapodi-Kedgaon area. A wire with electrical charge was resting on a standing sheet. The top cover was blown off by the wind exposing the wire. Shortly, the power had descended into the house. A current of electricity was sent in the wire which was used to dry clothes.

While drying the towel, Sunil was electrocuted and his wife and son also passed away while trying to save him. The power company along with police officials have visited the spot.
