In light of recent incidents posing risks to tourists, the Pune District Collector has enforced stringent measures across popular destinations. Prohibitory orders under Article 144 are now in effect at various tourist spots, including forts, dams, lakes, and waterfalls, across eight talukas.

The decision follows incidents at Bhushi Dam and Plus Valley, prompting authorities to prohibit gatherings of five or more individuals at these locations. Activities such as diving into fast-flowing water, swimming in deep waters, taking selfies at risky spots, and consuming alcohol near natural waterfalls are strictly banned. The stern action by the district administration of putting up restrictions on popular tourist destinations has left many travellers disappointed.

Here’s a breakdown of the restricted areas:

– **Maval**: Bhushi Dam and Fort area, Bendewadi at Vadgaon Maval, Dahuli waterfalls

– **Lonavala**: Dams within town and rural limits, Tiger Point, Lions Point, Rajmachi Point, Sahara Bridge, Pavana Dam, Tata Dam, Ghubad Lake area

– **Mulshi**: Mulshi Dam, Tamhini Ghat Forest Area, Milkybar Falls

– **Haveli**: Khadakwasla Dam, Varasgaon Dam, Sinhagad

– **Ambegaon**: Bhimashankar, Dimbhe dam area, Kondwal waterfall

– **Junnar**: Malshej Ghat, Dams, Gadkille area, Shivneri, Manikdoh

– **Bhor**: Bhatghar Dam, Velha Dam, Kataldhara Waterfall

– **Khed**: Chaskaman Dam, Bhorgiri Ghat, waterfalls, forest area

The district administration and police have urged tourists to comply with these directives for their safety. Failure to adhere to these regulations may result in legal consequences. Furthermore, strict actions will be taken against any disruptive behavior, particularly in Lonavala.

For those planning a monsoon getaway, it’s advisable to stay updated on local advisories and exercise caution when visiting natural attractions. Your safety remains our priority.
