The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the upcoming Legislative Council elections. Among the five selected candidates are Pankaja Munde, Yogesh Tilekar, Parinay Phuke, Amit Gorkhe, and Sadabhau Khot. With the strength of the Mahayuti alliance, it is expected that all five BJP candidates have a strong chance of winning.

Elections are set to be held for a total of 11 seats in Maharashtra, with Yogesh Tilekar being nominated from Pune. Pankaja Munde’s name had previously been considered for the Legislative Council, but she was overlooked in favor of a Lok Sabha ticket in the recent elections, where she faced defeat. Her nomination to the Legislative Council now signals her political comeback and there is speculation that she might secure a ministerial position in the forthcoming cabinet expansion.

The voting for the 11 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council is scheduled for July 12, with the last date for filing nomination forms being July 2.
