Pune Customs seizes 24k Gold worth Rs 78 lakhs from passenger travelling from Dubai

Based on profiling, one pax arriving from Dubai by SG-52 on 05.06.2024 was intercepted. Nothing objectionable was found in his personal search or baggage examination.

Since behaviour of passenger was very suspicious, he was asked if he has concealed anything in the aircraft. Since his answers raised suspicion further, his seat alongwith few other spots in the aircraft were seached. 

During the search, a packet of gold paste was found concealed in the pipe under the seat where he was sitting. After extraction 24k gold was retrieved weighing 1088.30gms valued at Rs.78,01,043/-

The pax is arrested.

Further investigation is under progress.
